When does the season start & end?
The soccer season starts in September, although some teams may begin practicing in August or earlier.
The mini's (U5-U10) typically start the third weekend in September and play until mid-March.

What does U6 mean? What division will my child play in?

The U stands for Under. For example, if your child is 5 on or before December 31, he or she would play in the Under-6 (U6) division. If he or she will be 13 by Dec 31, he or she would be in the Under-14 (U14) division.

What equipment does my child need?
Your child will need soccer shoes, shin pads & a water bottle. For U5-U8, you will need runners for gym practices. In U5, U6 & U7 you will also need black shorts.

    What about uniforms?
    Jerseys
Your coach will be asking for a uniform deposit cheque for $50 post-dated for March 1 of the following year. You will then be given a team Jersey to use for the season.
Your uniform deposit cheque will only be cashed if your Uniform is not returned.
    Shorts
U5-U7 - Players must purchase their own black shorts.
U8-U10 - Players are supplied black shorts as part of the uniform and must be returned.
U11-U18 - Shorts are included in the registration fee and are kept by the player.
Socks - are supplied to all players and are kept by the player.

When will I hear from my coach?

Your volunteer Coach should be contacting you by the first week of September. Please remember that we are often still looking for coaches for some teams, especially the younger age groups and also that many people are away on holidays during August.
Once you have been placed on a team, you will have access to your team page through your file. This team page will have contact information for your coach(es) and also shows the team roster and game schedules (for in-house divisions - U5-U7 and U8 Boys).

When do I get my game schedule?

Your coach will supply you with your game schedule typically the week before the season starts. For interlocking teams, there are many different people from other clubs responsible for making up the schedules and they are not always ready at the same time. For the in-house mini's, we may not know how many teams we can field until close to season start; it is dependant on finding enough volunteer coaches.

How many players are on a team & on the field?

U5-U8 - up to 9 players on a team, games play 5 vs 5 (includes the goalie)
U9 - up to 11 players on a team, games play 6 vs 6 (includes the goalie)
U10 - up to 12 players on a team, games play 7 vs 7 (includes the goalie)
U11 - up to 15 players on a team, games play 8 vs 8 (includes the goalie)
U12 - up to 15 players on a team, games play 8 vs 8 (includes the goalie)
U13-U16 - up to 18 players on a team, games play 11 vs 11 (includes the goalie)
U17-U18 - up to 20 players on a team - with a max of 18 dressed for a game, games play 11 vs 11 (includes the goalie)

How much play time should my child expect?

PITT MEADOWS SOCCER CLUB POLICY AND PROCEDURES MANUAL PAGE 7
    3.0 NON-COMPETITIVE PROGRAM (U5-U12)
    3.02.1 Playing Time
The PMSC Policy for playing time is as follows: All team members should play an equal amount of time. Each player must play a minimum of one half of each game. If roster size does not permit team members to play equally in each game, those players playing lesser time should be rotated each game.
By the end of the season all players should have played approximately an equal amount of time. If a player is being disciplined for an infraction of league or association rules then this rule does not apply. No player in the Non-Competitive League shall play as goalkeeper more than one half each game.

How do I get a receipt?

You can print a receipt for each player by going to Your File from above menu bar or from the home page.
Click on View Payment History in the left column or Payment History under the heading Your Online Account.
Click on the applicable Invoice # and print.

How do I get a refund?

Please contact our treasurer to request a refund. The request must be made in writing or by email. There may be an administration fee withheld from your refund.

Who runs the Pitt Meadows Soccer Club?

Other than the paid Head Coach, the Pitt Meadows Soccer Club is completely run by volunteers. We have an Executive made up of 9 volunteer directors as well as numerous other volunteers who work in many different areas to help run this club. Some examples include: scheduling fields and referees, organizing team photos, organizing the dance, working on the web site, organizing the mini-jamborees, team equipment. As well, there are over 100 coaches and assistant coaches that also volunteer their time to coach our kids. Please consider how your family might help.
