The "new" structure of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is designed to take into account (1) the different types of coaches who contribute to the Canadian sport system, and (2) the environment or context in which they coach.
The NCCP's principle objective is to develop the abilities of coaches working with athletes at all levels, from community to high performance sport. In addition to the Canadian Soccer Association technical information and levels, the NCCP also offers "THEORY OF COACHING" modules termed "Introduction to CompetitionParts A and B".
The overall content of these courses includes: Planning a practice, designing a basic sports program, nutritional advice, ethics in sport, teaching and learning skills, and teaching basic mental skills.
